Inside My Head

Inside my head are lovely blogs waiting to be written and posted

...

In front of me is a small mountain of paperwork

...

Upstairs there is a not so small mountain of washing waiting to be done

...

Life

...

Oh and our small bean row is now producing enough for me to contemplate making some chutney

...

Autumn is now firmly knocking upon Summers door

...

Juicy blackberries are waiting to be picked

...

And picked I have

...

Usually every other evening

...

I retire to bed fairly early, exhausted after a busy late Summer day

...

I do so love this time of harvesting, the preparing for cosy times

...

But boy it can be very tiring

...

I still stick whenever possible to the rationing

...

When I've caught up with things a little better and the wedding is over with, I hope....always there is hope...to post about it in more detail

...

Bride to be is filling my 'spare' time at the moment

...

At the weekend she had a hen evening

...

A meal out then back to ours for some fun

...

Here are my daughters dressed in the best wedding attire we could make from toilet rolls

There was a lot of laughter, so much so that my stomach muscles hurt the next day!

...

And I now realise that I eat smaller portions than before having my Fitbit

...

I have loved having my Fitbit

...

It is like having a fuel ometer!

...

So far since 28th June I've walked 283.45 miles

...

And lost 10.2 lbs

...

Feel so much fitter

...

I can realistically see me losing all the weight I want to

...

All without going on a 'diet'

...

And as I weigh every morning it gives me a true look at slight variations

...

The weekly average can be a very good measurement

...

So while I appreciate there is still a way to go until the Jackie I'd like to re appear actually does I can enjoy the journey with no food being off limits if I'm prepared to burn off its calorie content!

...

Oh, and the dressmaker is leaving my final fitting for the wedding outfit until the beginning of September

...

Hopefully a couple more butter pats can be melted off my midriff by then!

...

Have a fun if rather damp late August day

Next Stop Fifty!

Today I reached 49

...

Not sure how I feel about that!

...

It will just have to do I suppose as no amount of fretting over it is going to make a blind bit of difference.

...

So in celebration of this marking of time I took a day trip out to Fingle Bridge with my eldest daughter, her fiancé, their dog and Heidi.

We had a lovely day there, a very long walk, and a light lunch at the pub afterwards

The dogs loved to cool off in the river

...

Unfortunately Heidi toppled into the river head first and sank right down at one point. After this episode she would go in the water but not out of her depth

...

Poor Heidi, though it was mighty funny to watch!

Above is Heidi begging at the lunch table, and below is her checking that I'm not too far behind!

Trying to get a family photo, Heidi and Beatrice

Oops an inside out ear!

I came home to find these waiting from a friend in the porch

And this evening hubby and I went to Appledore for fish and chips and to listen to the Appledore Band playing

It's been a lovely day

...

Back to work tomorrow!

The Big Reveal

Finally...

With no further ado...

I present to you the patio...

Still needs painting, and the concrete has cracked more than we'd like, but still we LOVE it! Hubby was pressure washing most of today, that's why the walls are wet.

To those of you who commented on my last post a big thank you...sometimes things bog us down, this was one such time.

My iPad has been playing up and I've just worked out it's the new case! Oops...so I now have a naked iPad in my hands!

Anticipation

The August Sun has just set in the sky

...

Birds are cooing softly in their nest outside my window

...

The wind is but a fairies breath

...

Anticipation hangs in the air this evening

...

Early tomorrow morning we are expecting a load of concrete

...

It has been a mega job for the cavemen preparing the site, building walls and steps and pillars

...

But finally

...

Tomorrow

...

Bacon and mushrooms and eggs are waiting to be cooked up for the hungry gang of workers

...

I have come to bed early and set my alarm in readiness for the mayhem to begin

...

I have been feeling a little out of sorts this past week

...

I've been reading my favourite blogs still, but have not found the energy or inclination to post comments

...

I hope this changes soon

...

It has told upon my step counter too

...

A craving for crap has been hard to ignore also

...

I'm hoping I have turned a corner today

...

I feel a real need to rid the house of building dust and create something

...

This afternoon I fetched some material from the in-laws place

...

Time to make time for me and make something for myself

...

Time to take control of many things

...

Time, resources, emotions, finances

...

And time to finally become more organised

...

I need to for my sanity

...

Working and studying and homemaking

...

It all takes it's share of me

...

The more organised I can become the better

...

Wish me luck!!

Losing A Little Each Day

Now this title could refer to my flabby bits...but it doesn't...
I'm referring to daylight hours...
We're losing 3-4 minutes of it per day...
Now I love Autumn with a passion, but I don't yet feel I've had a proper Summer...granted we had a spell of lovely weather way back...but I was thinking that was very late Spring...
As I type I can hear further rainfall through my open window...
The baby swallows in their nest just by the window would do well to hunker down today...they make cutsie 'comfy' noises through the night...
It won't be long before they and countless others will be lining up and flying off to a warmer place...
Hopefully skies will become that beautiful shade of blue that almost speaks Autumn is nearly upon us...
The weekend just past was quite lovely though, and I took some time out with Sonshine who's home to visit Rosemoor...
This cheeky fellow watched us whilst we had refreshments at the Wisteria Tea Room...
Whilst this busy little mouse scuttled back and forth...
We saw giant trees...
And more of these...
Jokingly chose our Christmas tree...
Decisions decisions!
Chatted to the wildlife...
And dreamed of being small again...
Had a good look at the fruit varieties...
And had a simply lovely morning before checking in with reality and going back home to the continuing building work...
But the patio and steps are nearly done...phew...it has been a mammoth task...
I'm saving a photo for when it's finished...
Kind of anyway!
